The Terra Nova Chapter, formerly known as the Terra Nova Meeting Group, was formed on March 1, 1996, and was officially recognized as a chapter on June 4, 1997 at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo (R) in Orlando, Florida. There are currently 70 members throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, with meetings held on a bi-monthly basis in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

The Terra Nova Chapter is committed to further development and education for its members located throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. We have been members of the SCTE since 1997, and we will be celebrating 10 years this coming June. Please visit our 10th Anniversary page for more information.



The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers Inc., (SCTE) is a non-profit professional organization which was formed in 1969 to promote the sharing of operational and technical knowledge in the field of cable TV and broadband communications. The organization, based out of the United States of America, has both national and international chapters and Meeting Groups. Through these chapters they are able to provide technical training and certification, develop and investigate broadband and communication standards, and exchange technology ideas.
